4.TWENTY-FIVE PLAYER RAID ZONES-4.6Tier Three,Black Temple-8

Mother Shahraz
Mother Shahraz is a block for most guilds in Black Temple. This fight is a shadow resist fight, with all members of the raid needing 365 shadow resistance for the fight, excluding the main tank. One of the reasons this fight is a block for most guilds is the amount of Hearts of Darkness that are needed to craft shadow resistance for the entire raid. Start collecting from your first day in Black Temple. From the NPC port spot, make a right and then a left to the hallway that will lead to Mother Shahraz’s room.
Abilities
Mother Shahraz has 2,600,000 hit points and hits for an average of 6,000 to 7,000 damage.
Fatal Attraction: This ability teleports 1-3 players to a random spot in the room and places a debuff with DoT on each of the teleported player that ticks for 750 shadow damage initially, 1,500 shadow damage at the second tick, 2,250 shadow damage at the third tick, and 3,000 shadow damage for the remaining ticks. This damage affects all of the teleported players until they are beyond 25 yards from one another. It lasts for 30 seconds. This ability excludes the main and Saber Lash tanks.
Prismatic Shield: This debuff appears on the raid members and changes every 15 seconds. The auras increase Mother Shahraz’s resistance to one school of magic while reducing her resistance to another.
Arcane – Arcane resistance increased by 25 percent and Nature resistance decreased by 25 percent.
Fire – Fire resistance increased by 25 percent and Frost resistance decreased by 25 percent.
Frost – Frost resistance increased by 25 percent and Fire resistance decreased by 25 percent.
Holy – Holy resistance increased by 25 percent and Shadow resistance decreased by 25 percent.
Nature – Nature resistance increased by 25 percent and Arcane resistance decreased by 25 percent.
Shadow – Shadow resistance increased by 25 percent and Holy resistance decreased by 25 percent.

Saber Lash: Does an initial burst of 75,000 to 85,000 physical damage to all targets within 1-2 yards of the highest aggro target, which should be the main tank. Stack 3 tanks (main tank and two off tanks) on top of each so that the damage spreads out between them.
Beams: Mother Shahraz has 4 different beam options to shoot at players. She chooses the beam type and shoots it 3 times and then switches to another type of beam. Each beam chains to other players and can affect up to 10 players.
Sinful Beam: Shoots 7,000 to 8,000 shadow damage to targets.
Sinister Beam: Shoots 2,000 shadow damage and performs a knock back on the targets. This ability excludes the main and Saber Lash tanks.
Vile Beam: Places a DoT on the target that does 2,500 shadow damage every 2 seconds for 8 seconds.
Wicked Beam: Drains 1,000 mana from the targets.
The Pull and Position
Generally speaking, Mother Shahraz is tanked somewhere in the room along the path leading up to her. Use a hunter’s misdirect to pull Mother Shahraz to the tanks. Melee stand behind Mother Sharhaz as normal. The position of the rest of the raid is up to the raid leaders. Some raids stand in one spot off to the side but within line of sight of the tanks and Mother Sharhaz with two healers standing away from the raid in the middle of the room that are dedicated to raid and fatal attraction healing. One potential problem you need to be aware of is that if an unlucky fatal attraction teleports happens in that spot, the entire raid takes damage until the fatal attraction targets leave the area. Other raid groups separate the raid into different groups around room, increasing the probably that more than the fatal attraction targets will be affected by fatal attraction. Use whatever works with your group.

Battle
Once the fight begins, Mother Sharhaz starts shooting her beams at players and switches every 3 beams to another type of beam. She’ll also start the 15 second Prismatic Shield rotation, which requires special attention by caster damage dealers for maximum damage output. Both the beams and Prismatic Shield abilities can be monitored for changes unlike the Saber Lashes, which are random. Each tank takes a significant amount of damage and need to be healed quickly. While important, these abilities are not what make the fight difficult. Fatal Attraction is the ability that gives most raid problems.
The trick to living through a Fatal Attraction is to move as soon as you are teleported and change direction as you are moving if you notice another player is moving the same way you are. Try to always move in straight lines so make complete turns when turning to run in another direction instead of drifting slowly off to the side. Health stones and shadow pots also help you survive as well as any movement speed increasing abilities such as Sprint. Most wipes are due to teleports in the raid group or in melee range of the tanks. Strong heals are especially needed during this time. Understand that lag or some computers may cause some players to take an extra second or two to load the teleport location.
The raid switches out normal gear for shadow gear, which means you are obviously at a disadvantage. Choose the pieces your switch out wisely so that you have a good balance of your class statistics. Bring whatever consumables that you need to assist you with this fight such as mana regeneration or increased damage consumables as well as shadow resistance potions. Keep in mind that you need to have your health as close to or above 10,000 health for this fight. Make sure to enchant your shadow resist gear with extra shadow resist enchants/armor kits and/or class statistic enchants.
Mother Sharhaz is largely based on luck due to the possibility of a bad teleport wiping the raid, lag, or computer performance. Keep at it though, eventually you’ll get the fight down and learn to adapt to the needs of your raid.
