4.TWENTY-FIVE PLAYER RAID ZONES-4.6Tier Three,Black Temple-6

Gurtogg Bloodboil
Gurtogg Bloodboil is a mutated fel orc, which most of your healers never actually get a good look upon since they are too busy healing the raid to even look at the boss, starting from the beginning of the fight. This is a heavy healing intensive fight so try to have raid members at or above 10,000 hit points.
From the NPC area, go towards the right to the stairs and make another right. Travel down the hall way to Gurtogg Bloodboil’s room. Gurtogg is not in this room but down the hall.
Abilities
Gurtogg Bloodboil has roughly 5,500,000 hit points and will enrage after 10 minutes. This fight has two phases, which have some abilities unique to each phase while some abilities may occur in each phase.
Acid Geyser: A Phase Two ability that is cast on the Fel Rage target, which deals about 5,000 nature damage to the Fel Rage target and anyone standing within 5 yards of the target.
Acid Wound: A Phase One debuff that reduces the target’s (tank) armor by 500 and ticks for 250 damage when first applied. This debuff stacks every 2 seconds on the active tank and can be stacked up to 99 times. This DoT part of this ability is Nature and can be removed by player abilities except for those that give the player invulnerability.
Arcing Smash: A Phase One and Two melee cleave, which affects all those players in front of the boss. The attack does an initial burst of about 5,000 damage in Phase One and 12,000 damage in Phase 2. It leaves a Mortal Strike type of debuff on the affected player that reduces healing effects by 50 percent. Be aware that Bloodboil uses this ability frequently.
Bloodboil: A Phase One DoT that does 600 damage every second for 24 seconds to the five players furthest away from him.
Disorient: A Phase One ability that targets the highest aggro target and disorients the player for 5 seconds. This ability is used 5 times during Phase One.

Fel Acid: A resistible nature DoT ability in both Phase One and Two that is applied to anyone within a 10 yard cone in front of the boss, which deals about 8,000 damage in about 10 seconds.
Fel Rage: This is strictly a Phase Two ability that is cast on a random member in the raid and Gurtogg Bloodboil every 90 seconds that lasts for 30 second. Gurtogg Bloodboil only attacks the player with Fel Rage.
Increases player armor by 15,000
Increases player heath by 30,000
Increases healing done by 100 percent
Increases damage done by 100 percent
Increases size by 100 percent
Insignficance: A Phase Two ability that is applied to the rest of the raid when the Fel Rage target is chosen, which prevents the player from generating threat.
Knockback: A Phase One ability that knocks the current tank back and reduces his threat.
The Pull and Position
You can either fight Gurtogg Bloodboil in this room or travel down to his spawn point to fight there. If you choose this room, have the raid stand back from the opening he is going to be pulled from and have the tanks stand somewhat in the center of room along the wall that the opening is. Tanks once again position their backs to the wall and spread out slightly. The raid spreads out in a semi-circle around the room in groups, excluding melee players who stand behind Gurtogg Bloodboil. Blood boil groups move backwards to get the debuff. The group nearest the opening cannot get into position until Gurtogg Bloodboil is positioned at the tanks. Use a hunter to misdirect Gurtogg Bloodboil to the tanks. Keep Gurtogg Bloodboil’s back to the raid.
If you plan to use the ramp area of Gurtogg Bloodboil, also use a hunter’s misdirect to make sure the tanks have aggro. Tanks once again position their backs to the wall and spread out slightly. Melee players stand behind Gurtogg Bloodboil. The rest of the raid stands behind the melee, almost parallel to the light fixture at the bottom of the ramp. Bloodboil groups move backwards near the wall to get the debuff. Keep Gurtogg Bloodboil’s back to the raid.

Battle
Phase One
Phase One requires two strategies to be successful during this phase: the tanking strategy and the Bloodboil ability strategy. Raid members need to be aware of both strategies.
Bloodboil Ability Strategy
During Phase One, Gurtogg Bloodboil applies the Bloodboil debuff onto the five players that are the furthest away from him. Create three Bloodboil groups to soak up the debuff at different times. Since the ability targets 5 players, you can assign the 3 Bloodboil groups by raid group number.
The Bloodboil groups soak up the debuff by positioning themselves furthest away from Gurtogg Bloodboil. Depending on how the raid is positioned, this could mean simply moving behind the raid or moving to assigned spots that places the group in the furthest spot. Have the first sponge group move to the furthest spot on the initial pull and move back to the rest of the raid once the group has the debuff. The second sponge group moves to the furthest spot to get the debuff and then back to the raid once it is cast. The third group follows the pattern as well. The sponges groups keep cycling turns throughout Phase One. Once Gurtogg Bloodboil casts the fifth debuff, the raid needs to spread out to prepare for Phase Two. Healers need to be assigned to heal the debuff. Warlocks are also able to lifetap to heal themselves.
Tanking Strategy
Three tanks are needed for this fight. Keeping in mind that Gurtogg Bloodboil is not tauntable; all three tanks need to be building aggro simultaneously. The three tanks must also stay within range of each other’s threat. It is during this phase that Gurtogg Bloodboil performs abilities that cause the active tank to loose aggro during the fight.
Gurtogg Bloodboil disorients the active tank and switches to the next highest aggro target, which should be one of the other tanks. Gurtogg Bloodboil also uses a knockback, which can also cause loss of aggro for the active tank. Damage dealers must keep the fact that Gurtogg Bloodboil is untauntable and does drop aggro during Phase One and not go above any of the tanks in threat.

Phase Two
Phase Two begins when Gurtogg Bloodboil casts his Acid Geyser ability on a random raid player. This individual is the Fel Rage target. The raid should be spread out for Phase Two in advance to avoid having the Acid Geyser hit more players than necessary. This is especially important since the healers are going to be busy keeping the Fel Rage target alive.
The Fel Rage target is going to take a great deal of damage so healers need to switch to that target to keep the player alive. Without significant healing, the Fel Rage target will die. Keep at least one or two healers on the tanks to heal the DoT damage ticking on them.
Damage dealers are going to be pleased with the Insignificance debuff that is cast on the rest of the raid once there is a Fel Rage target. This debuff is an indication that you can do max damage without worrying about your aggro. Make sure you have this debuff before doing your max damage since it can be resisted. This phase lasts 30 seconds so burn him down in this phase. Move out of Gurtogg Bloodboil’s way as he returns to the tanks to avoid taking damage such as cleave damage.
The fight switches from Phase One to Phase Two repeatedly until Gurtogg Bloodboil is dead, which needs to be before the 10 minute enrage timer expires. Remember that the Insignficance debuff is a damage dealer’s best friend in this fight. Use this time to burn him down during Phase Two. This is a difficult fight to learn and will take some time to practice. Do what you can to stay alive as you perfect your execution of the fight.
