4.TWENTY-FIVE PLAYER RAID ZONES-4.2Tier One,Magtheridon’s Lair-1

Introduction
One has to feel a certain amount of sympathy for poor Magtheridon. Not only is he removed from power, he is evicted from his home, and then imprisoned by fel orcs who drain his blood. Magtheridon must have annoyed a Blizzard executive to be treated this poorly.
Magtheridon’s Lair is located in the beginning zone in the Outlands: Hellfire Peninsula. To enter Magtheridon’s Lair, go to the entrance located at the very bottom of the Hellfire Citadel, on the west side or back of the Citadel.
Trash Mobs
The trash mobs spawn every two hours. They travel in pack throughout the zone and some packs are stationary as well. Most of the trash mobs are Hellfire Warders. These mobs melee plate wearers for about 4,000 damage points per hit and have the following abilities:
Death Coil – This spell does an initial burst of damage (2,000 damage points) and fears a player for 3 seconds.

Fear – This fear cannot be dispelled and lasts for 8 seconds. Tremor totems eat the fears from affected targets.
Immunities – These mobs cannot be crowd controlled, silenced, or stunned. They can, however, be interrupted.
Rain of Fire – This AoE is an instant cast spell. It can not be interrupted and does roughly 2,000 fire damage points every 2 seconds for as long as a player remains in the area. Players need to move out of the AoE.
Shadow Bolt Volley – This spell can be interrupted. If successfully cast, it hits everyone in range for about 2,000 shadow damage points.
Shadow Burst – This spell knocks the main aggro target back and reduces threat. IT also does an initial burst of 2,000 shadow damage.
Shadow Word: Pain – This DoT does 500 damage points every 3 seconds for 18 seconds.
Unstable Affliction – This DoT does 500 damage points every 3 seconds. Do not dispel it since it will do 4,500 shadow damage points if removed before the DoT ends. Also be aware that it can do as much as 7,000 damage points in critical damage if removed.
All of the warders need to be killed before engaging Magtheridon since they will run in to assist his captors if left alive.
This raid zone is optional but killing Magtheridon does reward the raid with Tier 4 and equivalent gear. There is only one encounter to this zone: Magtheridon but learning the different phases of the fight can be tricky for new raiding guilds to master.
