Blizzard gave Tailoring a lot of love in the Burning Crusades expansion. Tailors can make epic cloth gear that rivals gear dropped from raids.
Cloth wearers will find this a great profession to take up. Especially if you don't have time to commit to raiding.

You're going to need around 3000 gold for this level-up. You'll gain a lot of that back through the Auction House, vendoring, and disenchanting some of your items you make.

Crafting Ladder
Tailoring to 25
Make 25 Bolt of Linen Cloth (or as many as need to ding to level 25). Now keep going, making about 50 more of these for all your efforts to come.
Tailoring to 50
Make Linen Belt until you ding to level 50. Vendor these when done.
Tailoring to 55
Make the White Linen Robe to get to Tailoring skill level 55. These can be disenchanted, which helps offset your skill up costs.
Tailoring to 75
Make the Blue Linen Vest to get to level 75. Disenchant these when done.
Now it’s time to get Journeyman Tailoring training. Then back to the grindstone!
Tailoring to 90
Make the Bolt of Woolen Cloth to get to level 90. Then keep going, you’re going to need about 120 of these.
Tailoring to 110
Make Heavy Woolen Gloves to get to level 110. (You might have come pretty close to 110 making Bolt of Woolen Cloths.) Disenchant when done.
Tailoring to 125
Get to 125 making Gray Woolen Robe. Sell the disenchanted results in the Auction House.
It’s time to visit the trainer again and become an Expert Tailor.
Tailoring to 135
Make the Bolt of Silk Cloth until you ding to 135. You’re going to need a bunch more of these, around 250, so keep going.
Tailoring to 145
You might be at 145 already from making the Bolt of Silk Cloth. If you aren’t, then make the Lesser Wizard's Robe to get to 145. The Lesser Wizard’s Robe isn’t bad for the level, it might sell in the AH. You’re probably better off disenchanting it.
Tailoring to 150
Make the Azure Silk Pants to get to level 150. These might sell in the AH, you can also disenchant them.
Visit the trainer again, it’s time to become an Expert Tailor.
Tailoring to 170
Make the Small Silk Pack to get to level 170. These 10-slot bags should sell in the AH. Put them in your AH rotation.
Tailoring to 170
Make the Formal White Shirt to get to level 170. Role players might like these, but they are best vendored.
Tailoring to 180
Make enough Bolt of Mageweave to get to level 180. You’re going to need 115 of these or so, so keep going.
Tailoring to 200
Make the Green Silken Shoulders to get to 200. The +11 int is ok for the level, so they might sell in the AH. You might be better of disenchanting them.
At 200 it’s time to see the trainer again. You’ll train to the Artisan level.
Tailoring to 205
Make the Long Silken Cloak until you ding to level 205. This can be auctioned, disenchanted, or vendored.
Tailoring to 220
Make the Black Mageweave Leggings to get to level 220. This can be auctioned, disenchanted, or vendored.
Tailoring to 230
Make Black Mageweave Gloves to ding to level 230. This can be auctioned, disenchanted, or vendored.
Tailoring to 245
Make Black Mageweave Shoulders until you get to level 245. This can be auctioned, disenchanted, or vendored.
Tailoring to 250
Make the Red Mageweave Bag to get to skill level 250. These may sell in the AH, depending on price. Put them in your AH rotation.
Tailoring to 255
Make enough Bolt of Runecloth to get to 255. You’re going to need a bunch of these, so keep on making them until you have around 220 of them.
Tailoring to 270
Make the Runecloth Belt to get to level 270. As usual, disenchant, auction, or vendor.
Tailoring to 280
Make the Runecloth Cloak to get to level 280. As usual, disenchant, auction, or vendor.
Tailoring to 295
Make the Runecloth Gloves to get to level 295. As usual, disenchant, auction, or vendor.
Tailoring to 300
Make the Runecloth Headband to get to level 300 in Tailoring. This is quite an accomplishment. Good job! As usual, disenchant, auction, or vendor.
Now it’s time to see the trainer for advancement to Master Tailor. Then, back to work, you’re in the home stretch now.
Tailoring to 305
Make the Bolt of Netherweave cloth to get to skill level 305. You’re going to need a whopping 650 or so of these, so keep going.
Tailoring to 310
Make the Runecloth Headband to get to level 310 (if you didn’t get there with the Bolt of Neatherweave work). As usual, disenchant, auction, or vendor.
Tailoring to 315
Make the Netherweave Belt to get to level 315. As usual, disenchant, auction, or vendor.
Tailoring to 320
Make the Netherweave Bag to get to 320. These should sell in the Auction House, just keep putting them through.
Tailoring to 325
Make enough Netherweave Gloves to ding to level 325. As usual, disenchant, auction, or vendor.
Tailoring to 330
Make about 140 of these. You’ll hopefully get to 340 skill, but certainly to 330.

Tailoring to 345
Make Netherweave Boots to get to 345. Disenchant this when you are done.
Tailoring to 355

Tailoring to 375
Make the Imbued Netherweave Robe to ding to 375 and to finish this process. You’ve done it, you’re at the top. Now you can go make some really spiffy epic cloth gear.
