13.PROFESSIONS TO AMP PVP-13.1Enchanting

Everyone is aware of the tried and true formula to compete in PVP:
damage gear + stamina gear + enchants + lots of practice = victory.
That's a great formula, and it works well – if you want to be mediocre.
If you want to excel more is needed. In addition to Enchanting, there are other professions that can amp your PVP.
Engineering gives you an edge in trinkets, explosives, and a few gadgets. Alchemy gives you an edge in all sorts of potions to not only quickly restore health and mana, but also in increasing other attributes. Cooking gives you buffs that will stack with your Alchemy buffs.
Whether you're doing the Battlegrounds or are on an Arena team these hints on using your professions to get an edge in PVP can put you over the top. Using all these tips together can put you on the top of the PVP scoreboard. (Of course, you'll have to play well too!)
Enchanting
PVP isn't for everyone. Raiding gear is going to be different from PVP gear. And for questing or leveling, you don't want to make the investment in enchants because you're just going to change the gear once you get better gear. Even enchants you'll put on your raiding gear will be different from PVP enchants.
Enchanting is a must for organized PVP, outdoor PVP, or the Arena. But not just any enchants will do. The more gold and strategy you put into your enchants, the better you'll do.
The great thing about enchanting buffs to your gear is that you don't have to have the Enchanting professions, you can just enlist a friendly enchanter (and pay a lot for the materials) to get these buffs.
You also need to carefully select your gear. For your class, and the focus or role your character is going to play, careful time and consideration is required.
Select enchants for your gear to compliment the following for your character:
●Gear to be enchanted (a warrior or feral druid would get plus strength gear, and then plus strength enchants)

●Build (how you spent your talent points – if your build enhances your chance to crit, get enchants that do the same)
●Role (healer, melee damage, spell damage, hybrid, crowd control – each role will need different enchants)
Melee
For a melee role in PVP your most important attributes are; Health Points; Crit%; Hit%; Armor; and Resilience. These are the attributes you will augment with enchants.
Up to Gear Level 35
For melee characters wearing gear that's less than item level 35 (twinks in 19 and 29 brackets) here are some great enchants:
●+3 agility to back
●+100 health to chest
●+9 stamina to bracers
●+15 agility to hands
●Boar Speed or minor speed increase to boots
●Crusader, Lifestealing, or Fiery on main hand weapon
●+15 Agility (Rogue) or + 15 strength (Druid) on off hand
●+9 damage or + 25 agility to 2 hand weapon
These enchants, combined with the gear from Engineering and the bonuses from Potions and Food, will make your character just about maxed out.
Non Enchanting Enchants: Head Gear and Legs Buffs
You can also twink out your head gear and your leg gear through enchants that are not applied by an enchanter. Let's talk about the head gear buff first.
In this lower level you can also get:
Armor kits from Leatherworking
Rugged Armor Kit +40 Armor
Thick Armor Kit +32 Armor
Heavy Armor Kit +24 Armor
Medium Armor Kit +16 Armor
Light Armor Kit +8 Armor
These armor kits can be bought in the Auction House and applied to your leather gear by yourself. These are great stop gaps until you get real enchants.
Level 60 applied gear buffs
Runic Spellthread - +35 Spell damage,
+20 Stamina
Golden Spellthread - +66 Healing,
+20 Stamina
Mystic Spellthread - +25 Spell damage,
+15 Stamina
Silver Spellthread - +46 Healing,
+15 Stamina
Nethercleft Leg Armor - +40 Stamina,

+12 Agility
Nethercobra Leg Armor -
+50 Attack power, +12 Critical strike rating
Clefthide Leg Armor - +30 Stamina, +10 Agility
Cobrahide Leg Armor - +40 Attack power, +10 Critical strike rating
The above buffs must be applied to gear by a level 60 character or higher. The cool thing is: they can be applied to any level gear! Yep, these are a twink's dream. These are applied to any legs. So here's how you work this:
1.Buy the armor on the AH. (It's going to cost a lot. This is only for the dedicated.)
2.Get a piece of BOE gear to apply the armor to. DO NOT equip the BOE gear, or it'll become soulbound.
3.Give the armor and the BOE gear to a friendly level 60 (or above) character. (Or mail it to an alt that is 60 or above.)
4.The high-level character applies the armor to the BOE gear.
5.The high-level character gives or sends the gear back to you.
6.You put on your new massively powerful gear. Now go out and PWN!
Head Gear Buff
The following items involve buying a Lesser Arcanum on the Auction House, then questing for other items, (these other items are sometimes on the Auction House) then turning it all in for a buff that you can apply to head or legs. (Since we already applied a legs buff, we'll put this one on the head gear.)
Lesser Arcanum of Tenacity -
+125 Armor
Lesser Arcanum of Resilience -
+20 Fire Resistance
Lesser Arcanum of Constitution -
+100 Health
Lesser Arcanum of Rumination -
+150 Mana
Lesser Arcanum of Voracity -

+8 Agility, Intellect, Spirit, Stamina, or Strength

Here's a walk through for the +100 health (Lesser Arcanum of Constitution), which is the most likely buff to be used for a melee character.
Lesser Arcanum of Constitution Walk Through
You will have to be over level 50 to accomplish all this. However, you can apply this buff to any BOE head gear, and send it to your lower level twink. (Or maybe you have a really good pal, over level 50, who'll do this for you.)
1.Buy the Lesser Arcanum of Constitution on the Auction House.
2.Buy a Black Diamond in the Auction House.
3.Get the following:
●One Lung Juice cocktail (turn in three Blasted Boar Lungs, two Scorpok Pincers, and one Basilisk Brain to Bloodmage Drazial in The Blasted Lands and he'll give you the Lung Juice Cocktail).
●Four Night Dragon's Breath (Night Dragon's Breath are plants obtained from Felwood in locations 30.60, 40.78, 42.13, 35.60, and 50.30. If the plants are corrupted, you have to complete the Salve via Gathering quest for Arathandris Silversky in Felwood, who will give you a salve to remove the corruption from the the plants).
●30 gold
4.Take all of the above to the Burning Steppes and speak to Mathredis Firestar (65,23). He will give you the crystal that you can apply to your BOE head gear.
5.As with the legs enchant, a high level character applies this to your head piece, and sends it to you.
6.If you're a level 19, this is best applied to the Engineering made Green Tinted goggles. Otherwise, apply it to the best gear for your level.
Gear Higher than Level 35
For the most part, gear level that is higher than 35 can receive the top level (375) enchants.
(Note that the same head gear and leg gear enchants we used on the less than level 35 gear should also be applied to this higher-level gear.)
This means that for top-level arena or battlegrounds competition, you're going to have to shell out serious Gold to just be competitive.
Let's take a look at the enchants for melee characters.

Back Slot
●Enchant Cloak - Greater Agility (+12 Agility) requires Enchanting 310.
or
●Enchant Cloak - Major Armor (+120 Armor) requires Enchanting 310.
Which of the above you select depends on your primary role. Rogues will benefit most from Greater Agility. Warriors will benefit from the Major Armor enchant.
Chest Slot
●Enchant Chest - Major Resilience (+15 Resilience) requires Enchanting 345.
or
●Enchant Chest - Exceptional Health (+150 Health) requires Enchanting 315.
or
●Enchant Chest - Exceptional Stats (+6 All stats) required Enchanting 345.
Which ever one of the above enchants you select will depend on your role in a PVP setting. Healers / buffers / debuffers (Paladins, Druids, Shaman) will want Exceptional Stats, since they will make use of extra mana as well as strength.
The Major Resilience enchant is simply good for all classes, since it dampens critical hits you may take.
Exceptional Health is also good for all classes, but if you're not going to be hit on as much, (for example a healing Paladin) then one of the other Chest enchants will be of more benefit.
Wrist Slot
●Enchant Bracer - Fortitude (+12 Stamina) requires Enchanting 350.
or
●Enchant Bracer - Major Defense (+12 Defense Rating) requires Enchanting 320.
For damage takers, Major Defense is the better choice. Of course, more stamina (the Fortitude enchant) is always good for PVP.
Hands Slot
●Enchant Gloves - Major Strength (+15 Strength) requires Enchanting 340.
or
●Enchant Gloves Superior Agility (+15 Agility) requires enchanting 300.
The Major Strength enchant will be overall best for anyone who swings a sword, except for Rogues. Rogues will get more benefit from the Superior Agility enchant (remember that from the gear level less than 35 category?).

Feet Slot
●Enchant Boots - Cat's Swiftness (+6 Agility +8% speed increase) requires Enchanting 360.
or
●Enchant Boots - Boar's Speed (+9 Stamina +8% speed increase) requires Enchanting 360.
There are enchants that give more Agility or Stamina to your foot gear. However, an important part of PVP is closing fast on your opponent, or running to get away from an opponent. The +8% plus to running speed is simply a must have. You lose a significant competitive advantage if you run slower than other players.
Pick whichever of the above is more important to your class.
Shield
●Enchant Shield - Shield Block (+15 Block Rating) requires enchanting 340.
or
●Enchant Shield - Major Stamina (+18 Stamina) requires enchanting 325.
For PVP the Major Stamina enchant may do you more good. If, however, you sit there and go straight at it with other melee classes, the Shield Block enchant will be your best bet.
Weapon Slot
There are a lot of great choices for enchanting your weapon. This choice is going to depend on several things:
●Your class (for example, in a Druid's Bear or Cat form, a procc'ing enchant is useless, since you don't use the weapon. Plus to stats enchants are better for Druids, but proccs may be better for warriors.)
●Your role
●One handed or two handed weapon
●Geared for higher damage or higher crit chances
Let's look at some of the enchants that are available.
One Handed Weapon Enchants
●Enchant Weapon - Major Striking (+7 Damage) requires Enchanting 340.
or
●Enchant Weapon - Mongoose (+120 Agility, +2% Haste for 15 seconds) requires Enchanting 375.
or
●Enchant Weapon - Major Healing (+81 Healing) requires Enchanting 350.
or
●Enchant Weapon - Potency (+20 Strength) requires Enchanting 350.

Which enchant you select will depend on your role in the PVP group, what gear you are using the weapon with, and what enchant you have on your off-hand weapon (or shield if you are using that instead).
Many players put a procc'ing enchant on their main hand weapon, and a plus to stats enchant on their off-hand.
Two Handed Weapon Enchants
●Enchant 2H Weapon - Major Agility (+35 Agility) requ
