Ahh, to soar across the skies in a machine crafted by oneself. It is the dream of many an engineer, a dream that became reality when the flying machines were introduced. Flying machines come in two flavors; the Flying Machine and the Turbo-Charged Flying Machine. The schematics are taught by Jonathan Garrett (Horde) and Niobe Wizzlespark (Alliance), each in the faction specific outpost in Shadowmoon Valley. The former requires expert riding skill (225), which costs you 800 gold. The latter requires artisan riding skill (300), which is the dreaded 5000 gold costing one. If you need some pointers on how to make gold with engineering, see the previous chapter. How to make one of these fine machines? Let me tell you.
Flying Machine
This is the basic variety, you need to build it even if you are planning to go right for the Turbo-Charged version. You need 350 engineering skill to both learn and make this. The materials:
●2x Adamantite Frame (4x Adamantite Bar and 1x Primal Earth each)
●30x Fel Iron Bar
●8x Handful of Fel Iron Bolts
●8x Star Wood
●5x Adamantite Bar
●4x Elemental Seaforium Charge
Star Wood can be purchased from enchanting suppliers. Madam Ruby in Lower City, for instance.
Elemental Seaforium Charge: This schematic can be bought if you are revered with the Consortium. If you are not, you will have to either buy them from the AH or collect the materials and get someone to make them for you. They require: 2x Elemental Blasting Powder, 1x Fel Iron Casing, 1x Handful of Fel Iron Bolts per TWO charges.
To break the materials down completely, here is the total of raw materials required to build it:
●26x Adamantite Ore
●92x Fel Iron Ore
●8x Star Wood
●2x Primal Earth
●2x Mote of Earth
●1x Mote of Fire
Turbo-Charged Flying Machine
Ready for the real deal? This baby fast! If you have the required riding skill (300) and the regular Flying Machine already made, you will be good to go.
The materials:
●1x Flying Machine Control
●1x Hula Girl Doll
●8x Khorium Power Core
●8x Felsteel Stabilizer
The Hula Doll can be purchased from Griftah in Lower City, it costs 25 gold. The Flying Machine control is your old flying machine and the other mats speak for themselves.
The raw materials:
●48x Khorium Ore
●8x Primal Fire
●96x Fel Iron Ore
●64x Eternium Ore
Total Materials Needed To Build Both Flying Machines
●188 Fel Iron Ore
●26x Adamantite Ore
●64x Eternium Ore
●48x Khorium Ore
●8x Primal Fire
●1x Mote of Fire
●2x Primal Earth
●2x Mote of Earth
●8x Star Wood
●1x Hula Girl Doll
