1.2.1. Death Plateau
Requirement needed: Money (at least 500gps), 10 cooked trout, 10 bread, 1 iron bar
Item suggested: None
Quest points required/quest completed: None
Quest points given: 1
Reward: 3k attack exp, steel claw, ability to forge claws
Begin this quest by talking to Denulth in a house directly above the Heroes Guild in
the town of Burthorpe (always look for the quest icon for help on where to find the starting
npc). Offer to help him look for another path up to the trolls that has been raiding the
village at night. He’ll also mention about the loss of the secret combination needed to
enter the equipment castle on the hills. Once you have finished talking, head to the
mansion in Burthorpe north of where Denulth is.
Head to the first floor of the castle and talk to Eohric. Say that you were looking for
the guard that was on duty last night. He’ll tell that there was only one guard, Harold, that
was on duty and that he is currently staying at the local Toad and Chicken Inn.
Get out of the castle and head to the bar to the southeast of the mansion. Head
upstairs and go to the room farthest west. You’ll knock on the door and Harold will tell you
to come in. Ask him if he was the guard on duty last night. He’ll not want to talk about it.
Head back and talk to Eohric. He’ll tell you to try to get Harold drunk. Head back to
the bar. Acquire an Asgarnian Ale from the counter (or buy one from the bartender for
2gps) and head upstairs again. Hand Harold the Asgarnian Ale. Then ask where he was
when he last had the combination. He’ll tell you that he doesn’t remember. Talk to him
again and ask if he would like to gamble. Wager around 500gps. Harold will then roll two
dice. Your objective is to roll a higher combined number on the 2 dice than he does. Once
you win, he’ll give you back your money and hand you an IOU. Read the IOU to identify
that it is the combination (keep the combination with you at all times while doing this
quest; you’ll need it at the end).
Head back to the castle. On the ground floor, head to the west corner of the room
and pick up the red, blue, purple, green, and yellow stone balls. Then place the 5 items in
the correct positions on the Stone Mechanism table to the right. Here is a diagram of
where the balls should be placed on the table.
Empty Green
Red Purple
Blue Yellow
Once you finish placing the last ball, you will get a message saying that the
equipment room door was unlocked. Now go and get 10 cooked trout (trout can be fished
in Barbarian Village), 10 bread (either steal them at the stalls in Ardougne or make them
at nearby windmills), and an iron bar. From Burthorpe, head up northwest towards Death
Plateau (follow the northwest trail from the castle). You’ll see a cave entrance just before
you enter between the cliff paths to Death Plateau (the cave won’t be indicated on your
mini-map). Enter it and talk to Saba, a disheveled and irritable hermit. He’ll tell you to find
and talk to the sherpa who might know of another path up Death Plateau (if you head up
the main path, you’ll be battered with rocks by the troll throwers uphill and might die).
To find the sherpa, head out of the cave. Head up northwest between the cliffs and
round the corner to the southwest (at the area where the injured soldier is). Open the gate
and knock on the door when you reach the house containing a chicken pen. Tenzing, the
sherpa, will tell you that he doesn’t want any milk today, assuming that you’re the
milkman. Your character will ask for his help, so he’ll tell you to come in. Tenzing,
apparently, does know of a secret path up Death Plateau, but he’ll only be willing to tell
you the secret if you can obtain for him 10 loaves of bread, 10 cooked trout, and to have
Dunstan, the blacksmith in Burthorpe, spike up his climbing boots.
Head back down to Burthorpe (make sure that you have an iron bar with you). Go
to the house in northeast Burthorpe that has an anvil. Speak to Dunstan. He’ll provide you
with the spiked boots only if you could permit Dunstan’s son into the Imperial Guard, and
he’ll also require the iron bar for the spikes.
Go back and talk to Denulth. He’ll give you a certificate allowing Dunstan’s son in
to the regiment.
Head back and give Dunstan the certificate. He’ll make you the spiked boot if you
hand him an iron bar.
Go back to Tenzing with his requirements. Then he’ll hand you a Secret way map.
Open the north door in his house and jump over the stile. Follow the secret path past the
first Mountain goat. Keep on proceeding until you spot a second Mountain goat. From
there, head east a little and you’ll get a message saying that you should report back to
Denulth.
The final step for this quest is to hand Denulth the Secret way map and
Combination. He’ll then dub you as an honorary member of the Imperial Guard. With the
completion of this quest, you’ll also be able to make claws from smithing.
Summing it up:
1) – Talk to Denulth in Burthorpe to begin this quest. Ask to help find an alternative path
up to the trolls that have been causing destruction upon the town.
2) – Talk to Eohric in the first floor of Burthorpe Castle. He’ll direct you to Harold, the
guard on duty that lost the equipment room combination.
3) – Go to the bar southeast of the castle. Head upstairs and go to the far west room.
Head inside and ask Harold if he was the guard on duty last night. He’ll refuse to provide
you with any information on the matter.
4) – Head back and speak to Eohric. He’ll suggest that you get the information out of
Harold by making him drunk.
5) – Head back to the bar and acquire an Asgarnian Ale from the counter. Give Harold
the beer, and ask where he last had the combination. Talk to him again and ask if he
would like to gamble. Keep wagering around 500gps until you roll a number higher than
his with the 2 dice. He’ll give you an IOU when you win. Read the IOU to locate the
combination.
6) – Within Burthorpe Castle’s ground floor are 5 colored stone balls. Pick up all five and
use them on the Stone Mechanism in the following order.
Empty Green
Red Purple
Blue Yellow
7) – Acquire the needed items and enter the cave to the northwest of Burthorpe Castle.
Speak with Saba about the quest.
8) – Go to the house southwest of the cave on the trail to Death Plateau (the southwest
trail, not the main northeast one). Knock on the door and talk to Tenzing. He’ll show you
the secret path if you can obtain for him 10 cooked trout, 10 loaves of bread, and a spiked
boots.
9) – To get the spiked boots, head back to Burthorpe and find Dunstan, the blacksmith.
Ask him to make you a spiked boots. Dunstan will refuse to do so, but after some
negotiations about the seriousness of the item Dunstan will agree to make you the boots if
you can get Denulth’s permission to make Dunstan’s son an official member of the
Imperial Guard.
10) – Head back and talk to Denulth inside his shack. He’ll give you a certificate.
11) – Give the certificate and iron bar to Dunstan and he’ll hand you the spiked boots.
12) – Make your way back to Tenzing’s house. Give Tenzing the items that he requested
and he’ll give you the Secret way map.
13) – Open the back door to the north of Tenzign’s house and head up the cliff. Keep
following the cliff north and east until you are sure that the path is safe, meaning that you’ll
have to wait for a message to appear that says so.
14) – Give Denulth the Secret way map and Combination to the equipment room for your
reward.
1.2.2. Druidic Ritual
Requirement needed: Raw beef, raw rat meat, raw bear meat, raw chicken meat
Item suggested: Bit of cash is always good
Quest points required/quest completed: None
Quest points given: 4
Reward: Ability to Herblore (250 herblore exp)
First off, go talk to Kaqueex in the Druid's Stone Circle. He'll tell the whole detail
about this quest and how to purify their stone circle.
Now talk to Sanfew. He's in the Herblore shop. He'll tell you how to purify the stone
circle.
Acquire four raw meats of four animals, which are raw beef (from cows), raw rat
meat, raw bear meat, and raw chicken meat.
Once you have these meats, go to the dungeon south of Taverly. Follow the
passageway north until you reach the first east gate (lvl-25 skeletons are roaming
around). Try to open the gate. One of the 2 suits will attack you. If you want, you can just
open the door and head on inside or otherwise kill both of them. Inside, you will find the
Cauldron of Thunder Sanfew was talking about. Dip the four meats on it.
Now head out of the dungeon and go back to Sanfew. Talk to him with the four
dipped meats.
After that is done, speak with Kaqueex again for your reward.

2) - Now go speak to Sanfew in the herblore shop in Taverly.
3) - Get raw beef (from cows), raw rat meat, raw bear meat, and raw chicken meat.
4) - Go to the dungeon south of Taverly.
5) - Head to the first east gate and try to open it. The suits will attack you. Kill them if you

1.2.3. Elemental Workshop
Requirement needed: Knife (there is a spawning point in Seers Village in one of the
houses), pickaxe, 4 coals, lvl20 mining and smithing
Item suggested: Weapon to kill lvl35 Earth Elementals
Quest points required/quest completed: None
Quest points given: 1
Reward: 5k exp in crafting and smithing, ability to make Elemental Shields (if at any time
you are playing Runescape and you lose the battered key needed to gain entrance to the
elemental basement, you can get another one by researching the bookcase at the
beginning of this quest)
Instead of beginning this quest by talking to an npc, as how many quests start, you
have to begin this quest by searching the east bookcase in a house in Seers Village (look
for the quest start icon on the mini-map). You’ll acquire a battered book. Use a knife on it
to acquire a battered key. Then acquire all your needed items (except the knife, which is
no longer needed).
Head to the house with the anvils north of the starting point. Use your battered key
on the odd-looking wall to the north. Head downstairs to the basement. From the ladder,
head northeast a little and search the boxes inside the square crumbled wall to get A
Stone Bowl.
Head east into the room with the Air Elementals and try to fix the bellows. Then
attempt to pull the lever. It will say that it is too hot to touch. Search one of the crates in
the northwest corner of the room to get a leather glove. Wear the glove. Do not pull the
lever yet.
Now head north into the room with the Water Elementals. Turn the water valve on
the right side of the room, then head to the left side and turn that water valve, too. Pull the
lever once you have pulled both valves.
With the previous steps completed, head to the south room with the Fire
Elementals. Use your stone bowl on the lava trough to the south, and then use your lavafilled
bowl on the furnace to the east. Then head back to the room with the bellows and
pull on the lever to make the bellows pump air down the pipe.
Head to the room west with the Earth Elementals. Mine one of the purple rocks.
You’ll be attack by one of the Earth Elementals. Kill it, and then acquire its ore.
Head back to the Fire Elementals’ room and use the purple ore on the furnace
along with your 4 coals. You’ll get an Elemental bar.
Use your Elemental bar on the workbench in the center room to make an
Elemental Shield. You’ll be finished with this quest after you make your shield.
Summing it up:
1) – Search the east bookcase in the house southwest of the bank in Seers Village for a
battered book. Use your knife on the battered book to get a battered key.
2) – Acquire your needed items (you can get rid of the knife for now). Head to the house
with the anvils and use the battered key on the odd-looking wall to the north. Head down
the stair. Search the boxes northeast for A Stone Bowl.
3) – Make your way east and fix the bellows that you see. Search one of the crates in that
room for a leather glove and wear it.
4) – Go to the Water Elementals’ room (the north one) and turn the 2 water valves (turn
the right one first). Then pull the lever in the center of the waterway.
5) – Head to the Fire Elementals’ room (the south room) and use your stone bowl on the
lava trough. Use your lava-filled bowl on the furnace east of the trough.
6) – Pull the lever (you must wear a pair of gloves while doing this) in the Air Elementals’
room to pump air down the pipe.
7) – Attempt to mine one of the purplish rocks in the room with the Earth Elementals. An
Earth Elemental will attack you. Kill it, and acquire its Elemental ore.
8) – Head back to the Fire Elementals’ room and use the Elemental ore along with 4
coals on the furnace.
9) – Smith the Elemental bar on the workbench in the middle of the basement to make an
Elemental Shield.
1.2.4. Fishing Contest
Requirement needed: Spade (spawning point in Falador and Draynor Mansion), Garlic
(search the cupboard in the first floor of a house in Draynor Village), fishing rod, lvl10
fishing
Item suggested: None
Quest points required/quest completed: None
Quest points given: 1
Reward: 3225 fishing exp, access to the underground path under White Wolfs Mountain
Start off this quest by talking to one of the two Mountain Dwarfs either at the west
or east underground entrance used as a shortcut past White Wolfs Mountain. Ask him if
you can use the entrance. Once he says no, ask why not. End the conversation after
learning of the Fishing Contest that is held in Hemenster (your objective is to win the
contest for the dwarf). Make sure that the dwarf gives you a Competition pass.
Head to McGrubor’s Wood west of Seers Village (squeeze through the fence on
the north side of the area). Once inside, head west and use your spade on one of the red
vines to acquire 3 red vine worms. Head out of the area once you have done so.
Now head south from the wood to Hemenster. Open the gate west of where the
chickens are. The guard will ask for your Competition pass. Show it to him, and head
inside.
Talk to Sinister Stranger (a vampire contestant you’ll have to beat). Ask him all the
questions and then talk to Bonzo to begin the competition.
Place your Garlic on the pipe next to Sinister Stranger. He’ll then move to another
location to fish. Fish at the location where the vampire was at (the northern most fishing
spot) and wait until you catch 3 carps. Bonzo will announce you as the winner and hand
you the trophy.
Return back to one of the dwarves with the trophy to claim your prize.
Summing it up:
1) – Talk to one of the 2 Mountain Dwarfs in either the shack west or east of White Wolfs
Mountain. Ask about the Fishing Competition. He’ll give you the Competition pass.
2) – Acquire 3 red vine worms at McGrubor’s Wood (use a spade on the red vines).
3) – Head south of McGrubor’s Wood in to Hemenster. Open the gate to the fishing spots
and show your Competition pass to the guard.
4) – Ask the Sinister Stranger about the sun, the fishing spot, and about him being a
vampire. Afterwards, talk to Bonzo to begin the contest.
5) – Place a Garlic in the pipe next to the vampire. The sinister will then move to another
fishing location. Use your fishing rod on the fishing spot next to the pipe to catch a couple
of carps. Bonzo will hand you the winner’s trophy after you have caught around 3 carps.
6) – Take the trophy back to the dwarf to complete this quest.
