3.Runescape-3.7Dueling

Dueling is a risky but also fun way that people use to earn money. What is
dueling? It’s when 2 players challenge each other to a match of combat fighting. They are
then teleported to an arena where they will attempt to kill each other, while still having to
follow the rules in which they both can set up before the fight begins. Unlike pking, you
won’t gain a skull above your head when you fight the other player.
The only place where you can have the option to duel someone is at the Duel
Arena northeast of Al Kharid. There are 2 possible entrances: either through the west gate
or you can rub an emerald enchanted ring and choose to teleport to the Duel Arena.
There are many npcs in the duel arena hospital. In here you can try to challenge
anyone. The nurses can heal you if you are injured. Fadli, next door to the arena’s
hospital, runs a bank and also sells rotten tomatoes.

How to Duel

There are two types of duel, a stake duel and a fun duel. Fun duels are meant for
players who just want to fight other players for fun or exp. A stake duel is when 2 duelists
wage items or money on the line.
First, in order to duel, you or another player must challenge each other. To do this
right-click on a player and click on the option “Challenge (player’s name)” Then if the
player accepts the challenge a screen box will appear.
In the screen box you and your opponent will be able to set the rules for the duel.
You can even wager any items or money you have in order to make the duel more
exciting. Usually around 10-20k is what most everyone will wager. If the rules and stakes
seem good to you then click on the “Accept” option. Both you and your opponent must do

this. Then another screen will appear. Make sure that the stakes and rules are what you
want. If it is then click on the “Accept” option again to start the duel.
You and your opponent will be teleported inside the coliseum south of the
challenging room. There are 2 types of arena, normal and obstacle. You and your
opponent will be fighting each other in the normal arena unless you set the obstacles
setting on. Then you’ll be fighting in an arena with walls as obstacles instead. Both of you
will begin a countdown from 3. When you both say “Fight!” that’s your cue to start
attacking your opponent. You can not attack any other players except for your opponent.
The first player to die loses. If you want, you can forfeit the duel by clicking on the “Forfeit
Trapdoor” option on the trapdoors placed on each side of the arena.
The best preparation for a duel is to type the kind of duel you want and let other
people challenge you (e.g. “Stake duel, 10k, no food”). This way, there will be less of a
hassle to set up the rule and trying to understand what the other player is insinuating.
Usually, challenging other players mean that you are willing to fight them according to
their rules.
If you just want to watch a duel then head up to the coliseum and stand be a
spectator. You can even buy rotten tomatoes from Fadli for 1gp each and throw them at
the players. It won’t inflict any damage to them but it’s a good way of showing your
expression.

Rules
~~~~~~
The rules can be set by both players during the staking process. If a red
checkmark is shown next to a rule that means that you and your opponent must follow
what that rule says for the following duel. Be sure that you know the rules of the duel
