3.Runescape-3.3Training

In this section, training will consist of anything that can level up your combat level.
Nearly all players train at least one of these skills. Why train? Many reasons. It allows you
to accomplish quests, kill harder creatures, and wield better quality equipments. In
addition, it can also acquire you money, whether it is off of killing players in the wild or just
plain npcs.
Tip: When considering where to train at for free-to-play players, it is highly notable to
keep in mind that World 1, 3, and 29 spawn creatures faster than other worlds. For
members these worlds are World 2 and 26. However, the number of creatures in a certain
location does not vary on all worlds.
3.3.1. Combat
Combat training is simple. Procedure: inflict damage on an opponent. Even if you
run away or someone else takes your kill, you'll still get exp for how ever many hp you
inflict on the npc. Attack, strength, defense, and hit points are all a part of combat.
Note: You can level up your combat level through combats, prayer, range, and magic.
Hint: When training a combat skill, try to aim for creatures that are low-leveled and have
low defense (you can identify if a creature has low defense because of the equipment
they’re wearing). Also, make sure that the creature has a high hp so that your character
can gain exp faster. Look below at the Bestiary section for information on certain
creatures.

Training

There are many places to train at. My only advice for you is that when you are
training, stock up on high healing foods and bring a few potions to increase your stats. Go
to a place where the monsters are plentiful. Bring the best equipments, including wearing
an amulet, boot, glove, and cape. Also activate any stat boosting prayer skill if necessary.
Being rich will also decrease the time it takes for you to train. Training your attack level to
level 40 is necessary so that you can wield rune weapons, but at the same time don’t
neglect strength and defense. Always stick to either using a scimitar, battle axe, or rune 2
handed when power training. Scimmies are preferred over 2-handeds by most players
because scimmies have a much higher attack rate than 2-handeds, but on the other hand,
2-handeds are much stronger. Battle axes are also good because they’re stronger than
scimmies and faster than 2-handeds but still have a somewhat low attacking rate. If you’re
rich then you should concentrate on training your strength rather than defense because
your money will cover the expense for food. With a higher strength level you will also
cause more damage to your opponent resulting in getting exp faster.

Exp

Depending on which weapon you use, you will get different attack styles. Each
attack style will gain you a different combat exp. For each hit you inflict on your opponent,
you will always get approximately 1.3 hp exp no matter what style of fighting you choose.

Attack Styles

3.3.2. Magic
Using magic spells will consume up your runes. Runes can be acquired in a
number of ways. To use a spell, click on one. The amount of runes you have and runes
needed to use that spell is shown below when you put your mouse over it. If one of the
runes required is in red text, then that means you don't have the right amount in your
inventory. Once the spell you want to use is clicked, the "Cast _________ on..." message
will appear on the left hand corner of the screen. Choose an opponent to cast it on and
you'll receive some magic exp.

Training

When leveling up your magic level, stick to a place where your opponents are
plentiful and won't be able to hit you. This way you can save money on food. Wear the
best magic equipment, including either a sapphire amulet (ammy of magic) or a
dragonstone amulet (ammy of glory) and a staff (preferably a Staff of Air because most
magic spells require the use air runes). Also stock up on a lot of runes so you won't have
to waste time buying or withdrawing more.
When wielding a staff, there will be an "Attack with..." option in the attack style
icon. To use this attack style, click on the "Choose Spell" option. Select an inflicting magic
spell that you want to use. Then whenever the "Attack with..." attack style option is

highlighted, your character will automatically use the spell chosen instead of hitting your
opponents with the staff.
Try to only concentrate on casting the magic spell on your opponent and don’t get
side tracked. The best and cheapest magic inflicting spell to use is Fire Strike. Before you
use the inflicting magic spell on your opponent, be sure to cast any curse spells, such as
Curse, Weaken, and Confuse, on them so that you’ll gain more exp.

Exp

For magic training, the amount of exp you get for using a spell is completely
different from combat. For inflicting magic spells, you'll get a specific magic exp plus an
additional 2 exp for every damage that you inflict. Look up at the magic skill section for
more details.
3.3.3. Range
Range is a simple skill to train. Equip yourself with a bow and some arrows. Then
click on an enemy opponent to shoot at. Ranging is a good skill to use for pking. There
are many other ranging equipments you can use instead of just a bow and arrow, like a
crossbow, for example.

Training

When first you begin to range, kill livestock (cows, chickens, rats...). Then move on
to lvl-7 Barbarians, then lvl-21 Guards.
When you reach level 40, I advise that you train your ranging at the ranging guild.
Use a short bow instead of a longbow because a shortbow will fire faster. Also put on the
best ranging equipment available, like any colored dragonhide armors. Look up at the
equipment section for details on ranging armor. Another good place to train is at the Moss
Giants northwest of Ardougne or at any other giants location. The reason is that you can
work up your prayer level by burying the bones as well as level your ranging.

Exp

Set your attack style to either Accurate or Rapid in order to gain more ranging exp.
If you set it to Longrange, you will only receive 2 ranging exp and 2 defense exp, but you
can shoot enemies from farther away. In Accurate or Rapid style, you'll receive 4 ranging
exp for each hit, but no defense exp. For every damages inflicted, you will also receive
approximately 1.3 hp exp no matter what attack style you select.
3.3.4. Prayer
The only way to level up your prayer is by burying bones. Bones can be obtained
by almost all npcs and all players. Once the bone is in your inventory, click on it and your
character will automatically dig a hole and bury the bones. You can bury bones anywhere.

Training

The best way to train your prayer is probably to pick up any bones you see while
playing the game and burying them along the way as training on them continuously can
be quite long and extremely boring. Other options are to buy bones from other players or
picking up and burying bones while training your combat.
Good prayer training spots:
- Giants in Edgeville Dungeon.
- Spawning bones in Edgeville Dungeon (there are 4 of them in the mini room east of the
spiders when entering the dungeon.
- Bone Yard in wilderness north of Varrock.

Exp

You can only get prayer exp for burying bones. You'll get different prayer
experiences depending on which kinds of bone you bury. Here is another chart of bones
exp.
