3.1.13. *Herblore
Ever wonder how you can make a specific potion? Well, herblore is the word for it.
Herblore is the basic idea of mixing 2 ingredients together in a vial of water to get a potion.
Herblore can be a tough skill to level up because one of the ingredients you need to work
with is randomly drop by npcs. You must complete the Druidic Ritual Quest in order to use
this skill. After completing this quest you will earn 250 herblore exp which will allow you to
start herbloring. I consider this the longest skill to level up.
Note: You can get a vial of water by buying/making a vial and filling it up with water at any
water source except wells.

Druidic Ritual Quest
Items needed: Raw beef, raw rat meat, raw bear meat, raw chicken meat
Items suggested: Bit of cash is always good
Quest points needed: None
Quest points given: 4
Reward: Ability to Herblore (250 herblore exp)
First off, go talk to Kaqueex in the Druid's Stone Circle. He'll tell the whole detail
about this quest and how to purify their stone circle.
Now talk to Sanfew. He's in the Herblore shop. He'll tell you how to purify the stone
circle.
Acquire four raw meats of four animals, which are raw beef (from cows), raw rat
meat, raw bear meat, and raw chicken meat.
Once you have these meats, go to the dungeon south of Taverly. Follow the
passageway north until you reach the first east gate (lvl-25 skeletons are roaming
around). Try to open the gate. One of the 2 suits will attack you. If you want, you can just
open the door and head on inside or otherwise kill both of them. Inside, you will find the
Cauldron of Thunder Sanfew was talking about. Dip the four meats on it.

Now head out of the dungeon and go back to Sanfew. Talk to him with the four
dipped meats.
After that is done, speak with Kaqueex again for your reward.
Summing it up:
1) - Talk to Kaqueex in the Druidic Stone Circle. Talk to him about his troubles.
2) - Now go speak to Sanfew in the herblore shop in Taverly.
3) - Get raw beef (from cows), raw rat meat, raw bear meat, and raw chicken meat.
4) - Go to the dungeon south of Taverly.
5) - Head to the first east gate and try to open it. The suits will attack you. Kill them if you
wish.
6) - Dip the four meats into the Cauldron.
7) - Head back to Sanfew and talk to him.
8) - Speak again with Kaqueex for your reward.

Herbs

Herbs are one of the ingredients required for a potion. They are randomly drop by
monsters. When you pick up an herb from an npc it'll be unidentified, so try to identify it. If
you can't, then you will need a higher herblore level.

Second Ingredients

Second ingredients are found through various tasks. They are needed to mix with
an herb to in a vial of water to form a potion.

Potions

Once you have an herb and the secondary ingredient, mix them together in a vial
of water to get a potion. Each potion made can be drinken 3 times.

3.1.14. *Thieving
There are four methods of thieving. They are pick pocketing, picking locks, stealing
from stalls, and chest thieving.

Pick pocketing

At lvl1, pick pocketing is the only type of thieving skill you can use.
Steps on how to pick pocket:
1) - Click on a Runescape citizen.
2) - Choose the "Pickpocket________" option. If they don't have one then that means you
can't pick their pockets.

Some of the time that you try to pickpocket someone you will be caught. The
consequence for getting caught is getting hit by the npc once and being stunned. As with
all of the other skills, the higher your level is, the less chance of getting caught. When pick
pocketing, try to pickpocket the npcs from behind. This way it will lower your chance of
getting caught.
Pick pocketing

Picking Locks

The ability to pick door locks can lead you to many great places that you have yet
to discover or grant you with valuable items. Some locked doors might require a Lock Pick
(can be stolen from Rogues) in order to unlock it.

Chest Thieving

Chest thieving is a good way to make a profit. If a chest is unable to open, then
simply click on it and choose the "Search for traps" option. Now you will be able to open
the chest. You will not get caught opening chests, but may be infected with random
events.
Chests

Training

No items are needed in order to thieve. However, it is necessary to bring a weapon
with you just in case a watchman appears or you want to let loose your anger on
somebody for not being able to thieve successfully.
Start off thieving from Men or Women until level 5. Then go to the marketplace in
East Ardougne and steal from the cake stall. I would advise that you thieve from this stall
until level 30. From then on, there is a variety of methods you can use to level up your
thieving.

Tips

- When thieving from civilians or stalls bring a weapon with you. You may have to kill the
guard that catches you or a watchman coming to arrest you.
- Bring some kind of anti-poison potion with you when stealing from chests because
sometimes you might be infected with a toxic coming out of the treasure box.
- Don’t even bother trying to level up your thieving by picking locks.
- When stealing cakes or any other items from stalls, go ahead and drop them between
each spawn, unless they are of good value. You can go to the General Store in East
Ardougne to sell them but that will just waste your time.
