1.12. Pking

Pking (player-killing) is the process of killing a player in the wild and obtaining their treasures. All players ranging at any combat level have the same advantage to this skill. However, the deeper further into the wild it is, the more advantage and control a high-level player will have. The level of the wilderness plays an important aspect to pking. Players won’t be able to attack anyone they choose, unless the level of the wilderness allows them to. For example, a lvl-10 combat player in level-1 wild will only be able to attack players level 9-11, and a lvl-10 player in level-2 wild will be able to attack players level 8-12.

Here are some tips on how to be a successful pker:

- Join a clan, get a friend, get all your friends, just have an ally to assist you. An army is better than a soldier.

- There is an added feature that shows you where your allies are. The Wilderness Capes will allow you to tell your friends from your foe. Talk to one of the npc located in the wild to buy a colored cape. Each npc distributes out capes of different colors. A
player wearing the same color wilderness cape as you are will appear on your minimap
as green-colored dots. Other players, regardless of wearing a cape or not, will appear as white dots, unless they are on your friend’s list. With this feature, you won’t
be able to accidentally attack people wearing the same color cape as you are. Simply
right-clicking on them won’t work. You’ll need to go to the option toolbar on the player and select “Attack whomever” in order to hit them. This feature makes it good and organized for wars between clans and tribes. However, this feature might allow spies or traitors to backstab you, so trustworthiness is still a necessary factor. This feature is only available to members.

- Bring some runes that’ll allow you to teleport to a city with you. Even if you are cast with the Tele Block spell by an opponent, it is always better to know that you have an emergency escape plan when the moment arrises (except when you pass the level-
20 wilderness, because after exceeding this point, teleportation spells will be
prohibited). In addition, not very many player’s magic level are 85 or above, so you
shouldn’t have to worry about this problem so much.

- Make sure your connection isn’t laggy. If so, either log on to a different world or wait for about a half-hour or so before heading on to pk. Experiencing this trouble during a battle may turn out very devastating for you.

- Use a scimmy or battle axe. Stick with a weapon that is high in speed because your
opponent will often times try to run when he/she is simply about to die. You will also
be able to wield a shield when wielding a 1-handed weapon, which will give you a
great advantage over a player with a halberd or any 2-hander.

- Don’t work with anyone whose combat is way beyond yours, unless you know that that person is completely 100% trustworthy. Fact-of-the-matter is, if that person gets a
kill with some assistance from you, then he/she will most likely not give you anything
for your share of the kill because he/she is beyond your level and can very easily
overpower you

- Here is a good deceiving plan that you may consider using while on a pking trip. Get a high-leveled friend to help you out, but make sure that your combat level is well below his/her’s. Both of you head deep into the wild. Get your friend to go a little bit deeper north into the wild than you until he/she is in the wilderness level that is a couple levels above the difference between your combat level and his/her. Now, wait until you spot a another player that ranges somewhere close to your combat level. Battle a few bouts with him/her. Don’t eat any food to heal yourself. Pretend to lose and after about 3 rounds, head north to where your friend is positioned (take this time to recuperate if need be). Your opponent will most likely follow you because he/she
knows that you are close to dying, and plus, the only way out of the wild is southward.
Pass north near your friend and when your opponent passes through the same trail,
have your friend attack him/her. He’ll surely lose because of the drastic combat level
difference and you can heal yourself and assist your friend if the other player is
putting up a decent fight. A good addition to this plan is to have an additional player (a high-level ranger or mage is best) that is around the combat level of the high-level
player to also help you out.

- Make your weapon/arrows poisonous. In order to do this, acquire a Weapon poison or a Super Weapon poison potion and use it on the equipment. With a poisonous weapon, your opponent will constantly receive damage from the poison, even if he/she is already out of the wild. The only way to cure this effect is by using an antipoison potion. The Weapon poison potion can only be used on 10 throwing arrows/darts/throwing knives/throwing axes/javelins, a dagger, or a spear,Remember, only members have this special benefit.
