The Elyos are one of the central races embroiled in Aion’s endless struggle for power. They bear similarities to what we would refer to as angels, though their background and history are unique to anything we’ve ever known. Divine brothers and antagonists to the Asmodians, the Elyos believe that they are the superior race of all Atreia.

In the beginning… the Elyos and Asmodians were a single divine entity serving as the protectors to the Tower of Eternity. During the Millennium Wars these protectors were divided into their two respective factions. A tragic series of events known as the Epic Cataclysm then led to the ultimate destruction of the Tower causing the two sides to completely turn on one another — each blamed the other for the Tower’s demise. Bitter enemies, the two races are now sworn to eternal retribution, consumed by a burning hatred and desire to exact their revenge.

The Elyos can appear comforting, warm and friendly. Against foes however, no such trace of warmth or benevolence can be found. Beneath their beautiful, angelic wings, they carry great strength that belies their graceful facade.

Under the control of Azariel, in the kingdom of Elysea, the Elyos crusade against the Asmodians while also remaining ever alert of the Balaur who watch vigilantly for a chance to attack.
